For more than three decades, Slayer's onslaught has proven the band to be the supreme thrash-metal band on the planet, the band that other heavy acts are measured against and aspire to. The two-time Grammy-winners have also accumulated an abundance of certified Gold Albums along with "Best..." awards from media outlets all over the world, including Kerrang!, SPIN, Metal Hammer, Revolver, and Esquire. Throughout Slayer's history, the band has never faltered in unleashing its extreme and focused sonic assault, and, unlike many of its contemporaries who "commercialized" their sound, Slayer has remained crushing and brutal, steadfastly refusing to cater to the mainstream. Slayer's founding member, guitarist Jeff Hanneman passed in 2013, and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt has been filling in for him since. Paul Bostaph, who was Slayer's drummer from '94 - '01, has rejoined bassist/vocalist Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King, and is back behind the kit. In September 2015, Slayer released Repentless, the band's 12th studio album, the first without Hanneman and first with producer Terry Date, to widespread rave reviews and the highest chart debut of the band's career. The band also teamed up with director BJ McDonnell for two high-concept and brutal music videos for the album's "Repentless" (9.5-million views) and then for "You Against You." (4.2-million views).
Following an extensive North American tour this past May and June, ACT OF DEFIANCE is ready to return to the road this Fall, headlining shows across the US. Additionally, the band will appear with Killswitch Engage and Hellyeah on select dates. See below for all upcoming shows.

Coheed and Cambria announce digital album re-release: "The Color Before The Sun" (Deconstructed Deluxe) available August 19 via 300 Entertainment
+ upcoming tour w/ Saves The Day and Polyphia

Coheed and Cambria are pleased to announce today a special "Deconstructed Deluxe" edition of their eighth studio album, The Color Before The Sun, due for digital release on August 19 via 300 Entertainment.
The 30 track presentation features the original album's 10 songs, both in the studio, and in their early acoustic demo form, as well as two bonus demos that were never recorded in the studio. The demos, called, "Big Beige/4th St," were named after band frontman, Claudio Sanchez's home, "The Big Beige" in upstate NY as well as his old apartment in Brooklyn, "4th Street" - since he wrote and tracked them in each residence. These acoustic demo tracks had previously only been made available to core fans who purchased the band's Limited Edition Deluxe Box set, which featured a 76 page physical book. Also included in "Deconstructed" are 7 live "bootleg" tracks pulled straight from the soundboard from various dates on their recent US headline tour, that expose a very raw look at the band.
Coheed and Cambria's ten song album, The Color Before The Sun was released in October 2015 via 300 Entertainment, marking a bold departure for the NY-based band. It was their first non-conceptual album, pausing the beloved TheAmory Wars, a seven-album science fiction saga that also bore a comic book empire, in favor of a more personal outing. "It's very much a time capsule of the two years leading up to this recording," Claudio Sanchez said. "I first created The Amory Wars in 1998 because at the time, I was afraid to share my personal stories. I didn't want them or the subject matter to be judged, so I translated my personal experiences into these fictitious characters and landscapes so I could hide behind them. With The Color Before the Sun, I figured it was time to pull back the curtain."
Rolling Stone declared The Color Before The Sun "a dramatic departure," Noisey said the new album proves "there are no boundaries for a Coheed and Cambria album" and Alternative Press, in a four-star review, added "the album pops and pulsates with signature Coheed wails and riffs." The Nerdist, who premiered the band's ode to the '80s video for "You Got Spirit, Kid", said the new music "features much of what has made Coheed and Cambria a force for the last two decades."
The Color Before The Sun was Coheed and Cambria's 6th consecutive Top 10 Billboard charting album, and their third to debut at #5 on the Billboard top current chart with 32,000 units sold. The record is available now via 300 Entertainment and can be purchased on iTunes, Amazon and GooglePlay.
Coheed and Cambria will be on the road in The States this Fall, on a massive tour with Saves The Day and Polyphia. Kicking off in Seattle this September, the tour takes the band through U.S. markets including a sold out show in Sacramento, Chainfest in Santa Ana, CA (with Portugal the Man and Title Fight), a handful of stops in Canada and closing out with an already sold out show at Starland Ballroom in New Jersey.
The band will also be touring through the UK this August, appearing at Leeds and Reading Festival, with additional dates with La Dispute and mewithoutYou.

Recorded at Conclave Studios in New York City, Fallen Heroes was produced by Mark Menghi, Mike Portnoy, and Alex Skolnick. The album was mixed by Jay Ruston in Los Angeles, CA and mastered at Sterling Sound in New York City by Ted Jensen. The initial sketch of the artwork was created by Mark Menghi and Stephen Thompson (Anthrax) and was later finalized by Marcelo Vasco (Slayer).
METAL ALLEGIANCE took the news of Lemmy's passing very hard as the bands very first gig was on Motörhead's first Motörboat cruise. It was on that boat where the idea to write a record together and carry the MA flag as a brand/band rather than a sporadic, special event show... all of us in MA are humbly grateful for the opportunity that team Motörhead gave us.
In late 2015, the band scheduled a West Coast string of intimate club dates with a stop as the world-famous Whisky A Go-Go. The year concluded with the band heartbroken saying goodbye to their beloved friend. They later found out that his funeral and memorial services would be held the day of their performance. The band was asked by their tour agent who is also Motörhead's agent, Lemmy's management, close friends of his, and the owner of the Rainbow & Whisky to incorporate a tribute which of course, they obliged. The day of their performance, Sunset Blvd. was shut down and their bus was parked on a street filled with tears, madness, partiers and a sea of mourning metal heads. They said goodbye to their friend that evening with help from Motörhead drummer Mikkey Dee amongst a ton of other special guests.
The next day they played their final show at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. Mid-set they were informed that David Bowie had passed. Mark Menghi comments, "I remember coming off stage to trade bass duties with David Ellefson (we would rotate songs) and he stopped me, looked me and Osegueda in the eyes and said 'Dude, Bowie just passed away.' Literally in mid-set we got that news. I looked at Mark and he was in tears. Not even a minute later, he was on stage telling the Bay area crowd of the news he just learned. I turned to the side and looked over at Mike Portnoy and he just had his head down with his hands over his head trying to comprehend what Mark was saying. The next few songs was our Lemmy tribute and tears rolled off all of our eyes while paying tribute to one while learning of the passing of another."
METAL ALLEGIANCE is performing at Bloodstock on August 14th but before they leave the U.S. they are teaming up with Loudwire for a very special warm up performance. The night will include the band playing their Bloodstock set list which consists of specially selected covers along with METAL ALLEGIANCE original music. The band will later pay tribute to 2016 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductees, DEEP PURPLE by performing "Made In Japan" now dubbed "Made In Brooklyn" in it's entirety. This makes the night at Saint Vitus extra noteworthy as DEEP PURPLE were inducted in Brooklyn.
For this special night, the band will consist of Mark Osegueda, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, Alex Scholnick, and Mark Menghi!
Recently, the band released an exclusive video announcing the drummers for their show at St. Vitus. Joining the band will be no other than former Amon Amarth drummer Fredrik Andersson and Kenny Grohowski,of death metal outfits Imperial Triumphant and Pyrrhon. Head to Loudwire to watch the full video.

ABOUT METAL ALLEGIANCE Stemming from an initial idea in 2011, METAL ALLEGIANCE was born as a way to unite a collection of hard rock and heavy metal's most notable musicians in a setting born under one ideal- a love of music and performing. In 2015, that ideal still holds true and has become the foundation for everything METAL ALLEGIANCE; furthered with the release of the upcoming debut album. While the lineup may change, the passion, the energy and the emotion all remain the same. METAL ALLEGIANCE is more than just a record or a concert, it's an experience and a lifestyle.
Fast Break! Records has confirmed the label's first release for long-running Syracuse-based metal outfit, FREYA, announcing the September unveiling of the band's Grim LP. Fortified by the sidewinding winds and mercurial lakes of the land with the largest sinking mall, FREYA stands as an immovable heavy metal monolith. Giant serpentine guitar riffs tightly coil around vast passages of tension and melody, creating the band's upcoming fifth studio full-length, Grim. Expanding upon the thematic scope of their previous release, Paragon Of The Crucible, their latest installment derives inspiration from the historical origins of Grimm folktales. Grizzled veteran founding frontman, Karl Buechner (Earth Crisis, The Path Of Resistance) breathes life into these cautionary tales, delving deep into their macabre realities and the harsh circumstances of their genesis. Newly-recruited drummer Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth, Soilwork), the one-man stampede of savagery, lends his machine gun percussive virtuosity to the album, his complex timing and imagination a perfect complement to the diverse riff-work of guitarists Brendon Flynn and Thom Turner. Grim was once again mixed and mastered by Jason "Jocko" Randall at More Sound Recording Studio in Syracuse, and features the intense graphic cover artwork by FREYA's Brendon Flynn. The album will be released through Pennsylvania's Fastbreak! Records on September 30th, 2016. See a trailer for Grim featuring the opening track "The Alchemist" now at THIS LOCATION. Stand by for additional audio premieres, pressing info, preorders, and much more to be released in the days ahead. Grim Track Listing: 1. The Alchemist 2. The Spectre Of The Plague 3. The Sentinel 4. Gnawing From Inside 5. Skeleton's Key 6. To Pyre With Them All 7. Hunter In The Dark 8. Swallowed Alive 9. To Burgeon Feathered Wings 10. The Silken Web 11. Eyes Of Malevolence Since 2001, FREYA has crossed metal and hardcore audiences on stage and on record with a plethora of mind-expanding works, incorporating fantasy and reality with thunderous grooves. The band released their debut album, As The Last Light Drains, in 2003 through Victory Records, where they would remain signed for years to follow. Their second release came in the form of a split with Hoods the following year. Their second album, Lift The Curse, saw release in 2007, and its follow-up All Hail The End in 2010. Each album saw the band elevate their songwriting and delivery to no sonic territory, and expanded their fanbase into new realms of the metal underground and mainstream. 2013's Paragon Of The Crucible, saw the band lashing out harder than ever, becoming the band's most lauded LP to date within the media and band's fanbase alike. FREYA now prepares to deliver their finest works yet, with the writhing, concentrated, metallic wrath of Grim.
