August 21, 2015 Pop Evil is set to release their fourth major label album, having five overall studio albums. UP will be released with eOne Music and has been produced with Adam Kasper working at Studio Litho and London Bridge Studios in Seattle, WA.
Pop Evil’s drummer Chachi says UP is unlike anything Pop Evil has ever done. Onyx which was the bands last album was said to have been coming from a darker, angrier state of mind due to situations arising from the bands personal lives; most notably the death of frontman Leigh Kakaty’s father. After being met with great success on Onyx they’ve opted to take a more fun approach with UP.
This album is succeeding in the aim to be more upbeat as well. The majority of the tracks feel extremely empowering and have a very energetic feel. The first four alone are a good kick off to get that adrenaline going. Take It All and Ways To Get High are great examples of some of the other stimulating songs on the album aside from the songs that have already been released. There are a few slower paced tracks to give you a breather throughout as well such as If Only For Now, Seattle Rain, and Til Kingdom Come with the latter two closing out the album on a slower note.
Their current single Footsteps is already currently in the Top 10. Footsteps has also had 3 consecutive wins in Loudwire’s cage match beating Trapt’s latest single Passenger, as well as 10 Years Miscellanea and Hinder’s Intoxicated. Other released tracks from UP include In Disarray and Dead In The Water.
