I’ve got something different for everyone today. SuperBob, hailing from Washington D.C., has a new album dropping on Tuesday, March 4, 2015. This is a very diverse band with an intense, in-your-face style. With 10 tracks clocking in at 34 minutes this quartet brings you a sound that has a heavy electronic backing, and Matt Santoro brings a lyrical flow that at times approaches Zack De La Rocha status.
With Matt Santoro on vocals, Adam Smith on guitar, Drew Recny on bass, and Chris Faircloth on drums they are what Limp Bizkit wishes they could have become. They sound like a hard rocking band merging with some metal, but took a left turn to stop off at a rave before hitting the stage. Loud, profane, and don’t give a shit. SuperBob will make anyone happy that finds Hollywood Undead, Deuce, and Hed p.e. showing up in their playlists.
“Capt. Crunch” opens the album and shows you the attitude they embody immediately. The riffs really kick on the chorus and the electronic tie-ins work really well. That’s coming from someone that doesn’t typically get into the electronic, dub-step, or techno side of things. “Savior” is another great track, “I don’t give a damn if you like it or not,” seems to be part of the message from the band on everything they do. They have progressed through the industry as independent as it gets telling everyone it’s their way or none. “F.T.W.” is hard hitting and probably one of the most aggressive songs on the album. Then there’s the song sure to make ladies jump up and dance while doing the duckface, “Butter Face”. This one is sure to be in the clubs. I’m not going to tell you anything else about this one. Listen to it. Ending the album is “Best Life”. Matt pulls off an awesome flow on this one, the riffs are sweet with a really cool shift that happens on the breakdown and is my favorite song on this release.
This group of guys loves to rock, put on a show and really work it up for the crowd. They tour relentlessly boasting over 240 actual live performances in a year pounding anywhere that will let them play. SuperBob is currently on tour, jumping all over the east coast in March and closer to April pushing on into the Midwest.
