![]() “Dearly Departed” (Century Media), the newest album from Adrenaline Mob, is a collection of cover songs and rarities. It was released on February 10, 2015 and is currently available for purchase. As a hardcore rock music enthusiast, I was completely stoked to have the opportunity to listen to and review this album. Perhaps the most interesting choice of covers is the classic Charlie Daniels Band country hit ‘The Devil Went Down To Georgia’. They also cover Pat Travers’ ‘Snortin Whiskey’ and Queen‘s ‘Tie Your Mother Down’) along with a medley of Black Sabbath songs. It also includes acoustic versions of songs from previous Adrenaline Mob releases along with the previously unreleased ‘Whatever Gets You Through the Night’. After listening to it for the first time I had to listen to it again and again! From beginning to end this record sucks you into a vortex of pure rock and roll madness that has a little something for everyone. Before I even get into what this record has in store for you I have to get into how completely blown away I was and still am after hearing their cover of “Tie Your Mother Down” by Queen. Adrenaline Mob’s frontman, Russell Allen, gives us near perfection with his vocals on this epic song. It literally gave me chills listening to their take on Brian May’s guitar riffs. It has become one of my top songs on my heavy rotation list. For this song cover alone it puts Adrenaline Mob in the ultimate hard rock stratosphere for me. Its been quite some time for me that I have been able to listen to an artists record and to be hanging off of every lyric and every note played. The record includes killer covers of “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” by Charlie Daniels Band. A totally raunchy and bad ass version of Pat Travers’ “Snortin Whiskey” as well as an 8 minute and 21 second long tribute to Black Sabbath that will leave you entranced and hearing Ozzy’s voice echoing in your mind. Aside from their unbelievable ability to not only choose but pull off such great sovers, and blow your mind with their spin on these classics, they have also provided us with a diverse mix of their original music. Their title track “Dearly Departed” which is my personal favorite rand is radio ready . It will leave you wanting to.hear more. Another feat is their amazing rendition of “Whatever Gets You Through The Night”. Simply fantastic. I can honestly say it has been a very long time since a record has drawn me in like this. I think Adrenaline Mob fans will be greatly pleased with this project. You will not be disappointed with this one!
